since a long time our company was trying to find trust-able suppliers with no results, and when we thought we found the one supplier we was scammed and all our money gone. our trading was in paper and I have a few points that I want to share about Business with China's companies. this information from our experience after being cheated by the chinese company and I wish that I was aware of this website to avoid the cheating that happened to us.
1. we have been advised by one of the chinese officials working in the consulate at our country that Paper manufacturing industry in china has many restrictions by the government, therefore its not easy to find a real manufacturer.. even though we receive hundreds of emails every month from pretending suppliers or manufacturers in china
2. It is very simple in china to open up a business under stolen IDs or poor people that get paid for their IDs to be used in making a business or opening a bank account. most of the time the people we speak with are not real names and they always only mention the first name.
3. There is no perfect way of paying money to suppliers abroad or in china because even the Bank LC is not safe, Bank pays against documents received only and do not wait for checking if real products are received.
4 It is better if you could get a trust-able third party appointed by your side to do inspection on loading, to make sure that you get the container with correct products.
5 Paper manufacturing is not as cheap as those suppliers quote prices, so if you calculate the cost of importing the goods + Bank LC fees + inspections + + carrier and Destination port customs fees + and any other fees, + all that risk of losing money you might find that the suppliers in your country are much better to purchase from.
6. Our company decided that we will take some address of companies that we communicate with and see they can be a trustable supplier and visit them in china. but unfortunately the china government has imposed a rule on many nationalities that they have to take official gov letter from china which is kind of an invitation or security letter which cost so much inorder to be allowed to apply for visa to travel to china, this is in case of tourism and business.
7. but if you were from the nationalities that can get easy visa to china, you have to take a trust-able translator, because the people you meet might even cheat you there by showing you another company and factory premises because you dont read and understand chinese you will not be able to read the signage of the company or any other information.
8. My conclusion finally before we deal with any company, is to check their website and phone nos and address as mentioned on this website. and if they pass, then we have to get copy of their export license or registration document and take it and check with the chinese consulate or embassy, commercial section, which can help telling us if the company is real and registered in china. if the company claim they are certified from third party agencies ask for a copy of the certificate and check with the concerned agency directly or look for a branch at your country or an agent for that agency, in this way you will find if the certificate is real or fake. if they pass all this. you have to still travel to china and take a translator and make sure everything is real and if possible stay in china till you see your goods shipped.
9. finally if you still get cheated, the only way to be able to catch them and get your money back which is also not guaranteed is by traveling to china and complaining to the police, or having a chinese lawyer take over the case which could be expensive.
Have a safe trading everyone,
