Can phone numbers that show up as coming from the U.S. be used by scammers actually in West Africa? Two numbers I know of in which the person texting to my cell phone claims not to be at the location of the phone numbers:
17864656345: Maps to Homestead, Florida. Person has claimed to be in Louisville, KY but has texted at times which would be consistent for West Africa.
13239894426: Maps to Central Los Angeles, CA. Person first claimed to be in Los Angeles, then Glendale, AZ, and finally admitted was in The Republic of Benin, located in West Africa between Nigeria and Ghana.
Both numbers have been blocked by me. Nobody on the internet I haven't met in person will ever get money from me again; actually even then I would likely not give it. Yes, I was scammed badly previous to finding this and other anti-scam web sites.
