Looking for some opinions as to whether this job is a scam as I am unsure. It was advertised on Totaljobs I applied for the position on the 25th March 2013, 7 days later I received the below reply. (Job is now expired on Totaljobs, I don't believe it was taken down prior to this)
My initial thought is yes it is a scam, as they ask for my details which they have on my CV.

I just set up a new art galleries in New York United States which just started operations and sales. so sourcing to buy more art works from professional painters and artists within the United Kingdom and some other countries in Europe. This is where you come in. If possible you can be in position to receive payment in advance to do my artworks and paintings shopping, make payments for them and have them delivered to you. I will also have my mails and packages forwarded to your address.. If you 're unable to stay at home to get my mails, I can have them shipped to a post office near you and then you can pick them up from there. When you get my mails/packages; you are required to mail them to where I want them mailed to. You don't have to put money out of your pocket, all you have to do is have packages shipped to your house and do my shopping.. You are allowed to open the packages to reveal its content. The content of the packages are art works,paintings and personal letters. All expenses and taxes will be covered by me. You will
work only on Monday to Friday. Weekly payment? willing to pay £225.00 week.
I need the service soon as possible because I am constantly out of town. I will return to United Kingdom by 20Th of April 2013, so this process will be going on till then. I will like to schedule an appointment with you when I return and then we can talk about the possibility of making this long term though I will still get in touch with you via phone for interview soon as we have an agreement and you start work. Well, let me know if you are able to handle the position. I will email you the list and pictures of what to shop for when I am ready. No heavy packages is involved! You can do the shopping at any nearest stores.
I already have an account with UPS which I use for my Shipping. All you have to do is present my account number to UPS and shipping charges will be billed to the account. If I were to mail you money in form of check to do my shopping plus upfront payment for your service, where would you want it mailed to? How should your name appear on the check!!
