Adoption Email

My husband and I have an adoption profile on line and received an email from someone who typed in poor english. She wanted to give her baby up for adoption and stated that she was living in Cameroon right now but was from the UK. She has a lawyer we could contact to discuss if we were interested in hearing details. I asked for the birth certificate and the lawyer phone number instead of just the email address. They sent the phone number which comes up as possible scam alert. My question isn't if it's a scam because we are 99.999999% sure that it is a scam. We want to know what can be done about these people. Can we do anything legally to have this tracked down and stopped? I find it hard to leave it for some other poor individual who is looking to adopt and have them fall for the scam. Does anyone know what steps we can take? We live in Ontario in Canada. Here is an example of one of the emails.

Im Professor Wilfred Given.Emilia's Lawyer. She informed me you
had the intentions to adopt Candy.I have made researches about adoption
scams in Cameroon , You are very correct to take the step you are taking
at this moment, we decided not to do any transaction in Cameroon as if in
any case a financial statement should be made it is going to be at the the
Williams Law Firm in U.k before action is taken.
She will be sending to you The scanned copy of the babies birth certificate
as she thought she should inform me before sending it to you.And tell your lawyer
i will be very delighted discussing this matter with him.
If any question please do not hesitate to ask.
