I have my doubts and suspicions about Luxury Pets Travel (Luxpets.net). My wife found a deal that is "too good" on an African Grey Parrot. The shipping reservation was made through a company that is supposedly in California. They take they're payments through Money Gram and it is sent to ZipZap Inc. which appears to be another money wiring service. I done some checking and the whois registration is registered to the same person that is registered as the contact for about a hundred other websites. The website was just built in late October, and the phone number area code is a Rhode Island Area Code. I further researched the phone number through a site that I got from this one to check phone numbers and it says that the number is probably a Malasia number. I know what everyone is thinking already, but I have to ask; Is the company a real shipping company? My wife has probably already lost about $200. She placed her order behind my back and now she received this email:

Your African grey parrot arrived UK on transit, but has been delayed by the UK customs due to lack of some vaccines required by the UK boarder control. Because of this delay, your parrot missed the scheduled flight.
The department of quarantine has administered the vaccines which cost £31 GBP, an equivalent of $53.95 USD. You will also need to pay a refundable insurance of $250 to cover the period that your parrots will spend on transit in uk before being delivered to your home.
The refundable insurance is designed to help cases like this one, where a client was not aware of the situation in a foreign country.
Upon delivery of your bird, you will be refunded CASH, the sum of $250; provided nothing goes wrong during the transit. If there are any problems during transit like accident, lost or theft, you will be eligible for a refund of £1000 GBP which is worth about $1,617.16 USD

(1) The vaccines fee ($53.95) is none refundable. Only $250 will be refunded (CASH) upon delivery.
(2) More charges will start accumulating if you do not pay within 36 hours.
