This actually happened today. I've been looking for a small dog for awhile now and somehow my internet searching led me to "http://christykoolteacupyorkies.webs.com/" and I was like, "hey! yorkies! alright!" and e-mailed the person about the yorkies and just asking basic stuff like, "how much are they? have they had their shots?" and all that good stuff. Well, here are the e-mails I received from "Christy"
1. "Hello, thanks for your e-mail regarding my teacup Yorkie puppies.

2. "Thanks for getting back to me. I am happy to see that you are willing
to give Julian a new home. Well I live in North Dakota and I
understand the fact that you live in Greenville, NC but I want to
assure you that I will be able to ship this puppy to you without any
problem and all you will be paying is just the relocation fee of
Julian okay! I also want to let you know that this puppy will be
shipped by plane using a traveling crate which will help to keep the
puppy comfortable and safe during the shipping. So the safety of this
puppy is 100 % guaranteed alright! Get back to me if you are willing
to proceed and i will let you know the relocation cost okay!
thanks and keep me posted"
3. "Well to ship Julian to Greenville, NC and deliver this puppy directly
at your house when she arrives, the relocation fee will cost $380 USD
but if you will prefer to pick up the puppy from your destination
airport, then it will cost $350 USD okay! So this is all you will be
paying and I will ship Julian to you immediately and you will receive
this puppy in good health. Do you have the relocation fee available?
Let me know so that we can proceed.
Thanks"
4. "Well I want to let you know that I have decided to make arrangements
so that you can pay the relocation fee of this puppy directly to the
delivery agency that I will choose to handle the shipping after I have
registered this puppy under your names at their service okay! This is
just to assure you that Julian will be shipped to you once her
relocation fee is paid. So if you have the relocation fee available,
then you need to get back to me with your full delivery details as
listed below so that I can proceed with the registration of this
puppy.
YOUR NAMES
STATE
CITY
ZIP CODE

5. "I understand the fact that you are skeptical about this but I want to
let you know that this is real and legit okay! I am a Christian and
cannot stoop soo low as to lie to you or cheat on you of your hard
earned money because such is awful and against the world of God
(Matthew 7:12) " Do unto others what you want others to do to you" and
if you also look in the book of (Leviticus 19:11) "Do not steal. "'Do
not lie. "'Do not deceive one another. All I am looking is a lovely
home for my puppies and you really made me happy when you promise to
give Julian a new home. So you cannot pay your money and dont get
this puppy okay! I give you my words that as soon as you pay the
relocation fee of Julian, she will be shipped to you immediately. All
I ask if your trust and for you to give me this one chance and I
promise you will never regret taking the decision of adopting Julian
from me rather I will make you a happy owner of this lovely female
teacup Yorkie puppy. So the decision of you getting Julian lies in
your hands.
Thanks and waiting to read back from you"
I told "her I needed to talk to my parents and get back to "her". Then I filed a complaint with IC3 so they can hopefully shut this person down. I just don't want anyone getting fooled into this scam and have their hopes of having a teacup yorkie broken.
Lucky for me, I did some research on whether or not this person was legit and came across some people who had similar emails, or emails exactly like mine, and was able to avoid this incident.
I really do hope this helps someone! Make sure you find a seller who you can meet in person, or is a legit breeder/animal shelter/etc. if you want to adopt an animal! Also, do your research on the person doing the selling and try to find reviews of people who have done business with them!
