can minimal info result in identity theft?

So, I've been looking for a new car in a bunch of different places; I found one that seemed near perfect on craigslist. I sent the guy an email inquiring for more information on the car, and the short version of the story is that he gave me some information and ended up requesting my name, phone number, and address so he could get in touch with "google checkout" and they'd contact me with more info.

I gave him my name and phone number (and at this point he obviously had my email) but told him I wanted to see the carfax/car history before I would give him my address. Instead of agreeing, or even acknowledging my request he just replied saying "i need your shipping address".

That's when things definitely felt weird, so I called google and asked if there was any way I could verify that there was a sale. The google rep told me they don't even sell cars, nor does google checkout exist anymore. He told me to not give him any more info, so I didn't.

My question is will he be able to do anything with just my name, number, and email address or do I have nothing to worry about?
And if I should be worried, what exactly should I be looking out for?

Thanks in advance, guys!
