Well i recently went on Craigslist and applied to Job positions and one of them was Assistant Position. When he contacted me He said this:
"Hello,
With reference to your application sent to our position ad on
Craigslist, We currently have a vacant position available, which is
the Personal Assistant Position.
We are looking for someone that can be trusted and reliable to work
very well with good understanding as Personal Assistant. The job
involves you working remotely from your location and its flexible,
working with us is basically about instructions and following them,
our only fear is that we may need you to perform an assigned tasks in
a timely manner sometimes, so we need someone who can be able to meet
up with executing assigned tasks in a timely manner. As Personal
Assistant, your activities amongst other things will include;
Primary Responsibilities:
* Running errands.
* Making regular contacts and drop-offs on our behalf. Handling and
monitoring some of our financial activities as the case maybe.
Compensation will be $300 a week tax inclusive plus other expenses
such as mileage.
Please note that this position is not office based for now, it's a
part-time work from your location for now and the flexibility means
that there will be busier weeks than others. We would like to give you
an immediate trial, so if you are interested kindly get back to us. As
We have been checking files and schedules and would need someone
urgently to run some errands for us this week/next week. We will have
some funds sent to you to complete the errands and would get back to

I then go on to talk more with him and he then says:

I wish to congratulate you on the new job.This is a legitimate
personal assistant Job we are offering you and we hope to have your
100% loyalty and co-operation. Your quick response to mails and
effectiveness will be required. We have been checking files and what
we would want you to do for us next week is to run some errands out to
some of the Foster Homes, we do that every month. A payment inform of
a Certified Company Check will be sent over to you from one of our
clients and we have some lists to email you once you received the
funds, You will make some arrangements by buying some stuff for the
kids in the Foster Homes at any nearest store around you so you can
mail them out. We will get back to you with the tracking number of the
check payment once mailed to you.
Please Re-confirm the Name and Address below in order to avoid any
loss or misplacement of check payment........................

HE then sends me a check through USPS Express Mail to my name and i open it to see a check for $2450.00 to ME from a company called
RAYS RESTAURANT LLC.
And this guy wants me to deposit into my account to proceed to the next step.
Is this legit? Should i just rip up the check?
